2022 KCCG Corn Hybrid Test Plots

It’s that time of the year again to register for the 2022 Kane County Corn Growers Plot!

Please fill out the attached form, and deliver seed and payment to the address on the registration form by April 10th. 

We will still be taking delivery at CHS Elburn Sycamore location, the address has been updated on the form.  If for some reason that doesn’t work for you just let us know and we can work something out.

We look forward to having you all participate again this year and hope for another great year!

2022 KCCG Scholarships

2022 Kane County Corn Growers Scholarships are now being accepted!

The objective of the Kane County Corn Growers scholarship program is to assist students pursuing higher education. Focused on agriculture but open to all majors.

Scholarships are available for both high school seniors and college students.

You or your parent/guardian must be a Kane County Corn Growers member to qualify for the scholarship. For membership details see our homepage.

A single applicant may be awarded the scholarship no more than 2 times.

Applications are due by May 1st, 2022

Winners will be announced by June 1st, 2022

2021 KCCG Annual Meeting

Here are the details on the 2021 KCCG Annual Meeting:

Date – Thursday, January 20th, 2022

Location – Elburn Lions Park, 500 Filmore St, Elburn, IL 60119

Time – Appetizers and cocktails at 5:30pm, Speakers & Prime Rib Dinner at 6:30

Cost – $20 per person, spouses, families and friends are welcome to join as well. Cash Bar

Please RSVP by January 18th, 2022 to any of our board members or mail check and list of guests to Kane County Corn Growers, P.O Box 781, Elburn, IL 60119

Mailings will be sent out around Mid-December to all the members

2021 KCCG Summer Events

It’s been a successful start to the 2021 season with both corn plots getting planted on April 24th!

Scholarship winners will be receiving letters in the mail by the end of June. We had 5 total winners this year!  They will be officially announced at our golf outing.

Here are our organization’s events for the summer:

Kane County Corn Growers Annual Golf Outing

Thursday July 15th – 10:00 am Shotgun Start – Sycamore Golf Club

We are going to have the golf outing at the Sycamore Golf Club on Rt. 64 this year due to uncertainties from our previous location. Registration begins at 9 am. Shotgun start at 10 am. Sign up is now available, please text or call Doug Keifer at 630-800-5679 by July 8th to reserve your spot or if you have any questions.  The cost is $60 per person. Dinner, door prizes, 50/50 raffle drawing and scholarship awards will take place after golf.

Kane County Corn Growers Annual Plot Picnic Supper

Wednesday September 8th – 5:30 Dinner – KCCG Plot

We will have a grain and agronomy speaker on hand to share their insights and answer any questions that you may have for them!  We will provide a catered meal from the Country Store in Sycamore.  There will be no cost to attend this event.  Please call or text Bryan Van Bogaert at 630-258-7426 by September 3rd if you’d like to attend or if you have any questions.

2021 KCCG Corn Hybrid Test Plot

Registration is now available for the 2021 Kane County Corn Growers Corn Hybrid Test Plot!

As usual, we will be using a third party company to plant the corn on corn and corn on soybean plots.

Applications and seed delivery are due by April 10th.

2021 KCCG Scholarships

Applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Kane County Corn Growers Scholarships!

Applications are due by May 1st, 2021, winners will be picked by June 1st and then all the winners will be invited to our annual golf outing dinner to be honored and receive their scholarship award.

This is eligible for all high school seniors going to college and all current college students that are either members themselves or have parents/guardians that are KCCG members!

KCCG 2021 Outlook

Thank you to everyone that made 2020 a successful year for the Kane County Corn Growers. Looking ahead to 2021, you can expect more of the same from the organization. Here are some things to look forward to in the upcoming year:

  • College Scholarships – Applications will be available by end of March
  • Corn Hybrid Plots – corn on corn and corn on soybean plot registration will be available by the end of March
  • Plot Scouting Clinic – speakers at the plot to cover updates on the current growing season, will take place at the end of June
  • Golf Outing – dinner and golf taking place at Hughes Creek Golf Course in Elburn, will take place at the end of July
  • Plot Night – grain and agronomy speakers and catered dinner at the plot, will take place at the end of August

We have monthly board meetings and are always open to any questions or comments so please reach out to any of our board members if you’d like to express anything.
